Our CEO, Kesha Stickland, adopted a plant-based diet 5 years ago to manage several health conditions and experienced the healing power first-hand. She fell in love with fermentation and mushroom cultivation after turning to mushrooms to replace meat in her family’s diet.
She spent the next 2 years working with her Husband and Co-Founder, Dan Gardner, to turn her hobby into a patent-pending technology that transforms mushrooms and upcycled plant proteins into a flexible ingredient platform that can be used to create a variety of meat alternative products. This inspired the couple to leave their careers in new school tech (software) to create a new kind of meat alternative using old school tech (fungi).
The two share more than 40 years of collective experience leading the development of technology products. They’re also both trained in plant-based nutrition and mushroom cultivation.
